Flowing Good
Ten Years of Hard Work: Connecting People
I’ll never forget the pictures from the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. The destruction, the scared kids stuck in the ruins—it hit me hard and made me want to do something right away. I knew for sure then that I had to help those children.
That moment started a ten-year journey. It was all based on a simple but strong idea: to close the big gap between the plenty in cities and the hard lives in faraway mountain villages. This wasn’t just about sending money or things; it was about making real connections. It was about city people really getting to know how tough these strong kids have it, and for those kids to feel that the world cares, that good things can happen to them.
We didn’t want one person to sponsor another directly. Instead, we wanted a network where people care about each other. Think about a simple letter swap—city kids and mountain kids sharing their dreams and everyday lives. Or basic school stuff and warm clothes getting to remote villages. I thought these small actions could tie people together, even from far away, and let good feelings keep spreading.
I started alone, but soon friends heard about it and joined happily. Our small team set off, driving on dangerous roads to reach poor mountain areas in Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan. The conditions were often really bad, but the kids’ bright eyes and their eagerness to learn reminded us why we were there. Every hard mile was worth it, especially seeing how they stayed positive even when things were tough.
I remember a trip to Guotong Village in Yunnan. It’s a beautiful place with terraced fields and amazing sunrises—even a UNESCO World Heritage site. But under that pretty surface, things were sad. Kids whose parents left to work in faraway cities struggled to get enough to eat. I met a little boy looking into a classroom, with no book or pen. When I asked why he wasn’t inside, he looked down and whispered, “I don’t have a book.” It hurt my heart. I knew then we needed to do more. We had to help these kids have better chances, turning their sadness into hope.
We started collecting not just supplies—books, pens, clothes—but also hope. We fixed up classrooms and set up small libraries. Every time those kids smiled when they got something new, it felt like a win.
As Mother Teresa once said, “The worst kind of poverty is feeling unwanted, having no one to love you.”
These kids needed more than just things; they needed to know someone sees them, values them, and loves them. So we brought volunteers to the mountains. They taught classes, played games, and just spent time with the kids, making important connections. The kids grew happier and more confident, and the volunteers left with their hearts changed, feeling good from giving and receiving care.
Our work grew, and we helped more places. When the Nepal earthquake happened, we helped rebuild schools, taught classes, and even built water tanks, working with local people.
In Laos, we gave school equipment and organized cultural exchanges. It was amazing to see places that were once forgotten start to do well, as kindness kept spreading.
It hasn’t been easy. There have been lots of problems and times when we felt like giving up. But with each step, we became more sure that we were making a real difference. We want everyone to know that giving back isn’t some big, impossible thing. It’s simple. A little kindness, given regularly, can change the world, spreading good wherever it goes.
Today, what started small has become a busy community. We still stick to our original mission, but on a bigger scale, always looking for new ways to spread love. We truly believe that if everyone does a little, the world will be a much better place, with more and more good feelings around. We’d love for more people to join us. Together, we can keep building connections of love all over the world, making sure good things keep happening.

The People Behind the Kindness
In this great journey of giving, we’ve been lucky to work with some really inspiring people.
Take Mr. Yu, the head of our project who never gives up. He’s very careful about who joins our team, because he knows this isn’t something you do just for fun. He’s put his own money and so much time into this work, staying even when others left. His dedication makes everyone around him want to keep going.
Then there’s Allan, who walks for hours through remote Yunnan villages, carrying heavy supplies to make sure kids have what they need. Every step he takes brings help and hope.
And Yangxi, a lively young woman who was there after the Ya’an earthquake. She said something that sums up what we’re all about: “I’m just an ordinary girl. But when I see those kids looking at me like I can help, I’ll do whatever I can.” Her energy makes the good we do grow.
Their stories keep us going and remind us why we do this. Love, in its truest form, is what drives us. And we believe with all our hearts that love can move mountains, keeping good things flowing and making sure there’s positivity all around us.
